 The Absolute world tower is one of the best new skyscrapers in the world. This building was started in 2010 and it was finished on 2012.  This twin towers are residential condominium. the architect that designed this building was Burka Architects and MAD studio. Building is in Mississauga, Ontario.
There are two towers but one is shorter than the other one. I really like this building because of the shape of it. It looks different from the others around it. I also like the inside of the building. i would live there it is really nice since it is recently made.

Bahá’í House of Worship a.k.a Lotus Temple (Delhi, India)

               This building is located in Delhi, India. this building was completed in 1986. the building is notable for its shape which is like a flower.  The Lotus Temple has won numerous architectural awards and been featured in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. 


        i really like the way this building looks. it also looks like modern building. i also like the shape of it. i like the flower shape, it looks beautiful.

          Revival architecture is when there are buildings that use visual styles from previosous architect. for example the capital of wachington dc and other government buildings aswell.

            Here are some buildings that use revival architecture.

niteroi contemporary art meseum

    The Niteroi contemporary art museum in brazil is one of the modern buildings that are in brazil. This building was built in 1996. this building is located in the city Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro. This museum is one of the city's main  landmark. this building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer. the building  is set on a cliffside, at the bottom of which is a beach. 

      I really think that this building is modern even though is was built in the year 1996. For me this building seems that it was built in these years. I really like the way it looks from the beach since its like in a cliff.

treasure island

          Today in our field trip we looked at the building that was built in treasure island. The building is an administrating building. This building was built in 1938. The architect of the building was William Peyton Day and George William Kelham. This building is known as the building number 1. It was really built for the us navy.

           

the Reichtag

  The Reich tag is located in Berlin Germany. the construction started in 1884 and it was completed in 1894. 
The design and construction architect was Paul Wallot and the renovation architect was Norman Foster.  The large glass dome at the very top of the Reichstag has a 360-degree view of the surrounding Berlin cityscape. Construction work was finished in 1999.  

     I really like this dome because the dome is made out of glass and the light is able to go through. i also think its a great idea of people walking around it and see how the dome works.

chapter 11 domes

     Domes had been built many years ago. Some mud-brick domes had been excavated in Mesopotamia. How ever it all started with the Romans who built them of stone, brick and concrete. in the Eastern Roman Empire domes were frequently used on basilica churches.
     Domes construction in the twentieth century was transformed by new materials like reinforced concrete and steel. Geodesic domes were pioneered in Germany after the first world war. Geodesic domes are a spherical shell structure. They intersect to form triangle elements. They are like a playground climbers but a domes is closed.

small proyect

      our small project was to create a park for child. for our project we made a private park around 64 houses. the park had to be big because there are a lot of house and probably there is a lot of child. in the park they are going to be able to do activities and play any sport or game they want because our park that we made is big and wide. our building is a big square and ther    

today in class

               Today in class Parth and Carson presented their presentation of their chapter book that they had to read. Their chapter was about why doors matter in architecture. They talked about ancient doors from long time ago. They also gave examples of some ancient doors like huge metal door and also explained how it keep them protected from water cold weather and even hot weather. It also  protects people from strangers.

               I liked Parth and Carson' presentations because they were very thoughtful of their chapter. They explained mostly everything about the history of doors. i liked Carson's presentation because he didn't use anything so that he can be able to resent. he was really prepared. Parth also did a good job because he explained everything in good detail.
